The Setting
A binary system a thousand years past its golden age, where the light is failing and everyone is fighting over what's left.
Alpha & Lucen
The system turns around a binary pair — Alpha, the fierce primary, and Lucen, its cold companion. A millennium ago the great civilization of Elyria fell. What followed was not a single catastrophe but a slow one — a spreading dark called the Fade — and the people who remain live inside the long shadow of a brilliance they can barely remember.
The tragedy runs in a sequence the whole system still measures itself against: Elyria falls → the Shatter → the Fade → the Veil.
The Powers
The parliament of the inner worlds — orderly, ceremonial, sure of its own righteousness. It sent the salvage fleets; its seat is Elira.
A militarized homeworld and its fleets — the regime that holds ground hard and covets what the old world left behind. Rival of the Concordance.
The Shattered Belt — the asteroid remains of Elyria, worked by the salvage lord Barret and the Slag Kings, where the relics wash up.
The criminal substrate of the smaller planets — black markets, ledgers, and debts. It profits from the cold, and it never forgets who owes.
A thousand years of slow decay creeping in from the edges — dimming suns, dead relays, quiet stations. Everyone measures their life against it.
The dark region made after the fall, and the ring of ruins at its heart — broken cathedrals of a civilization that understood things the living have forgotten.
